The Embassy of Belize informs that effective March 14, 2007, ONLY applications for machine readable passports will be accepted since the stock of paper passports is now exhausted.
Machine Readable Passports can only be applied for in person at the Embassy of Belize in Washington, DC; the Consulate General of Belize in Los Angeles, California; or the Permanent Mission of Belize to the United Nations in New York City. The cost of these new passports at the Embassy of Belize in Washington, DC, including shipping and handling, is $100.00 USD.
Applications for paper passports (not machine readable) that were received before March 14, 2007, are being processed on a first come first served basis.
Applicants in the United States for Belizean passports who are unable to travel to a passport issuing site - Embassy of Belize in Washington, DC; Consulate General of Belize in Los Angeles, California; or the Permanent Mission of Belize to the United Nations in New York City - may request a free one year extension of their expired passports.
In order to obtain the above extension, applicants must send their expired Passports to the Embassy of Belize in Washington, DC, [2535 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC, 20008, USA] along with a completed Passport Application Form, two photographs and $30.00 USD for return to applicant by FEDEX.
